v0.2 Released
Rhythm Mortis » Devlog
I know, updates? What???? This game was made as part of an "art war" due last week, but I've ended up with an extra week before the battle - so it's the perfect opportunity to spend an hour or two making some some (very minor) tweaks:
New in v0.2:
- Bullets and zombie death sound effects are now syncronised to the step sequencer notes, providing dat beat. This was all I wanted to add in. Only realised after uploading last weekend that everything should definitely sync into the beat.
- Added new selectable difficulties - "Easy" is pretty much where the game used to be except it gradually ramps up once you've got a good score going, "Hard" ramps up the challenge quicker, and "Dark Souls" is nothing like the game Dark Souls, but it is annoyingly hard. This is what happens when you can't be bothered balancing a game properly, even a tiny game-jam-esque toy like this.
- Game over screen actually shows your score and how long you survived instead of just vaguely pithy remarks (I mean, the vaguely pithy remarks are still there, but even that may be overselling them.)
- The game actually tracks how long you survive, because there was room in the HUD for it.
